Frequently Asked Questions

Is Luminari a real school?

Yes. Luminari is a legally registered private school in the State of Florida. We provide the institutional framework including official records and transcripts that validates your child education regardless of where you live in the world.

Do I need a teacher to use Luminari?

Luminari operates on a model focused on parent led curation. While we provide the curriculum roadmap and the administrative backing of a School of Record you remain the primary guide for the daily learning. We handle the red tape so you can focus on the relationship.

Can I join in the middle of the year?

Absolutely. We are built for flexibility. Whether you are withdrawing from a public school today or looking for better record management for your current journey our onboarding process helps you transition your student history into our institutional framework seamlessly.

I live in a state with strict laws like New York Pennsylvania or Massachusetts. How does Luminari help me stay compliant?

This is our specialty. In states with significant oversight simply being in an out of state school does not always exempt you from local reporting. For New York and Massachusetts we provide you with a Compliance Packet containing the plans and quarterly reports you need to file with your local district. We act as your administrative office providing the professional transcripts and annual assessment scores that school districts require. For Pennsylvania we help you track the specific hours and subjects required by state law. The main benefit is that we do not just give you a curriculum. We give you the legal evidence you need to prove academic progress to even the toughest school boards.

What about annual testing requirements?

Many states require some form of annual assessment to prove academic progress. Luminari handles the logistics for you. We coordinate and schedule nationally normed standardized testing or help you arrange a professional narrative evaluation if your state allows it. Our mandate for high school testing ensures your student has the scores needed for a professional transcript while satisfying state oversight at the same time.

Can I use my Florida PEP scholarship for Luminari?

Yes but only for our Curated tier. Under Florida law PEP students cannot be enrolled in a full time private school. Our thirty five dollar tier is specifically designed as a curriculum curation and academic support service which is a reimbursable expense through Step Up For Students.

Why is the fifty five dollar tier not eligible for PEP?

The fifty five dollar tier is for full institutional enrollment. By law if you are enrolled in a private school you are no longer a PEP student. You would instead be eligible for the private school scholarship. However because Luminari is entirely online we focus on the PEP model to ensure families can maximize their scholarship funds for materials and specialized services.

Are you accredited?

We are currently in the application and candidacy phase for regional accreditation. Accreditation is a comprehensive multi year journey that validates a school internal processes and academic standards. While we wait for the final seal of approval to be placed on our records we operate with the same rigor and transparency required by the top accrediting bodies in the country.

Does this accreditation status affect my child records right now?

Not at all. Luminari is a legally registered and recognized private school in the State of Florida. Even during the accreditation process your student is enrolled in a legal educational institution. Because we maintain professional record keeping and require nationally normed standardized testing our transcripts are designed to carry the institutional weight needed for college admissions and state compliance.

Will colleges accept a Luminari transcript?

Yes. Our transcripts are formatted to national institutional standards. Because we are a registered school and require standardized testing our transcripts carry the professional weight that college admissions officers look for. This distinguishes your child record from a home made transcript.

How do you handle attendance if we are flexible?

Florida law requires a one hundred eighty day instructional framework. Our platform includes an automated log. As you engage with your curated curriculum our engine tracks your progress to ensure you meet the legal equivalency of a full school year.

Who actually keeps the records?

We do. One of the biggest stressors for families is the fear of losing track of grades or attendance. Luminari acts as a professional archive. We maintain a continuous file for your student that includes attendance logs course history and verified transcripts. If you ever move to a new state or apply to a college we provide the official institutional records you need to prove your child education was rigorous and legal.

What if my school district asks me for proof of enrollment?

We provide you with an official certificate of enrollment or a letter of administrative support. You can share this document with your local superintendent to show that you are working with a registered professional organization. In states like Massachusetts where district approval is key this letter often serves as the professional backing parents need to get their education plans approved quickly.

Does Luminari issue a high school diploma?

For students in our full institutional tier we issue a professional high school diploma upon completion of our graduation requirements. For our PEP and Curated families we provide a certified record of completion. This allows the parent to remain the legal head of the education while still having an institutional seal that validates the student hard work for future employers or universities.
