Professional Ethics and Standards of Conduct

Our Commitment to Integrity

Luminari is committed to the highest levels of ethical conduct and professional integrity for all personnel and advocates. Our mission is to provide a safe and transparent environment for every family we serve. As a registered Florida private school we adhere strictly to the standards of ethical conduct as outlined in Florida Statutes.

 

Standards of Ethical Conduct

All employees and administrators at Luminari are required to follow a high standard of professional behavior. This includes but is not limited to maintaining the confidentiality of student records as required by law and interacting with parents and students with honesty and respect. We prioritize the academic and personal well being of our community above all else.

 

Requirement to Report Professional Misconduct

In accordance with Florida law all employees and administrators have an affirmative duty to report any alleged misconduct by school personnel that affects the health safety or welfare of a student. Examples of misconduct include but are not limited to the use of school wealth or property for personal gain the misrepresentation of professional qualifications or the violation of student privacy.

 

Procedures for Reporting

If a parent student or employee becomes aware of any professional misconduct by an administrator or staff member at Luminari the report should be made immediately to the Chief Administrative Officer.

 

Reports can be submitted via email to bayleigh@luminari.school with the subject line Professional Misconduct Report.

Protection for Reporters and Immunity

Florida law provides immunity from liability for any person who reports in good faith an instance of professional misconduct. No employee or administrator may take any retaliatory action against an individual who reports alleged misconduct in good faith. Reports will be investigated thoroughly and kept confidential to the extent allowed by law.

 

Misconduct by the Chief Administrator

If the alleged misconduct involves the Chief Administrative Officer the report should be filed directly with the Florida Department of Education Office of Independent Education and Parental Choice.
